9/11 and the N. Y. Times

Last night I saw the Managing editor of the N.Y. Times being interviewed by Pete Rose about 9/11. He asked her what question she would ask or what was the thing that most surprised her about 9/11. Her response it is a great Mystery why another 9/11 event had not occurred. She said I don’t understand why we haven’t been hit again. Some of these possibilities would never occur to an editor at the N.Y. Times.

Maybe George W. Bush and the brave soldiers sailors airmen police FBI CIA NSA Customs Border Patrol Dept. of Homeland Security etc. working under the policies of this President has kept it from happening despite the desirers and best efforts of the Terrorists.

Maybe the Terrorists are busy in Iraq and Afghanistan or the more primitive “tribal” areas of Pakistan dodging predator drones and otherwise trying to stay alive and undetected.

Maybe the taking out of 75% of Al Queada’s leadership (killed or captured) has something to do with it.

Maybe there is Divine intervention.

It will probably remain a mystery to the N.Y. Times.

Sherrod Brown Advertising

Sherrod Brown is running against Senator Mike Dewine for the U.S. Senate. Even though he has been known for years as a far left liberal member of the House he obviously believes that if Ohioans knew his real record he would never get elected. So when Senator Dewine calls Brown on his voting record which is tax and spend, tax and spend, tax and spend he falsely claims that Senator DeWine is distorting that record.

Come on Congressman Brown be honest, stand up for who you've been all these years and who you are instead of trying to fool Ohio into thinking your some kind of moderate on taxes.

I wrote the Congressman a note to that effect via E-mail and encourage you to do the same. The content of my E-mail follows:

Dear Congressman Brown:

Everyone knows that you have for years been a far left tax and spend liberal. Now when Mike Dewine points this fact out you call it distorting your record. Your whole record is tax and spend, tax and spend, tax and spend. So who is distorting what Huh.

If you end up being elected you will be more of an embarrasement to Ohio than Howard Metzenbaum was and I became a Democrat to vote against him in the primary so I could vote against him twice in one year. It is almost Labor Day so LET THE GAMES BEGIN.

Wishing you and your family the best in your political retirement.

McCarthyite Red Herring

McCarthyite Red Herring

Mary McCarthy, CIA higher up is fired after admitting leaking classified information to  a WP reporter.  The leaking of that information is characterized as highly damaging by the CIA director before a congressional committee.  Prosecution does not  appear immediately in the cards but the investigation continues.  Ms. McCarthy turns out to be a  7K$  Kerry supporter and a high-powered intelligence muckety muck in the Clinton administration.   What is the response of the Democrats and the media antiquitus,  Scooter Libby, Scooter Libby, Scooter Libby. This is known in argumentation circles as the fallacy of the red herring.  When you don’t have a defensible position and the hounds are hot on the trail drag a fish a crossed the trail and hope the hounds follow the red herring instead of you (in this case the Washington post, Ms. McCarthy , and the democrats) The fact that these folks are more interested in throwing the American people off the track rather than see a person who has violated the law and damaged our national security  brought to justice speaks volumes about each players  priorities.

CBS previews its freebee Hillary Comercials for 2008

Last night was one of those rare occasions when I tuned into CBS news. What I saw was Hilary Clinton smiling into the camera as the reporter extolled the virtues of the Junior Senator from New York who was it seems fighting a one Woman battle to improve the country's 911 system and thus our security. Better get used to these freebee comercials for Senator Clinton in the Medias Antiquitus. Disquised as news they are certain to multiply as 2008 approaches. The appearance of these Clintonian newsmercials now in the spring of '06 should be fair warning of things to come. John McCain are you listening?

I'm Back (Again)

My last post was in August '05 partly because it seemed no one was reading or at least commenting. Recently another blogger commented and sent me an e-mail so here I am again a thank you to Arnoldlando 1471, his blog is here. I am now teaching at a local community college including two courses I have not taught before which are taking much time. I will try to post regularly .
